Free Write

Due Friday at the end of class - minimum of 400 words.

  1. I stare at my computer with nothing coming to mind. What should I write about is that question that always popped into my head. Should I write about a knight saving a damsel, or should I talk about the end of the world. Could I talk about the importance of life or should I talk about something random and that no one would care about. I don’t know what I should write.
But then a thought came into my blank mind. What if I just write something about writing something. I could write about space travel. How the world can discover another species somewhere in the universe. I could describe them as being small little purple beings or gigantic creatures that look like humans. The freedom of writing a story is infinite. I could really talk about whatever I wanted and no one can tell me that I am wrong. It’s amazing what you can accomplish. What do you want to write about? I can’t tell you that you can’t write about that. It’s called freedom. No one is allowed to take that away from you. I mean there were some kings a couple hundred years ago that tried doing that to others, but they really aren’t allowed to. They are human rights which all humans are allowed to have. You can’t let anyone tell you what you can and cannot write about. Write about puppies, or maybe you want to talk about an airplane flying through the sky from the perspective of the plane. Maybe you want to talk about a volcano exploding on a remote island and no one really caring about it. Or maybe you can just talk about yourself. Talk about how amazing you are in school or in a sport. Talk about your amazing family or what you have planned for your future. The options are so numerous. So ask yourself the question that I asked myself in the beginning. What should you write about? You would be surprised on what you might write for the rest of the world to see. And maybe, just maybe that work that you did in high school could be published and spread throughout the world so that everyone can see.

My full name is Robert J. Wikander. I like Metal, Symphony Metal, Country and Rock. Some of my favorite bands are 5 Finger Death Punch, Rise Against, Shinedown, Delian, Within Temptation, and Avenged Sevenfold. I’ve been writing for about two years and I mostly write poetry, some of it can be dark, but I like to think the message can be seen in the words. I am also in the process of writing a novel, but I’ve hit a little block, I’m sure it’ll be cleared up shortly and I will be back on track with it. I also like to read, I mostly read fantasy novels, zombie novels and some other things here and there.
Favorite books: Hell’s Hero’s by Darren Shan, Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowen, The Morning Star Strain Plague of the Dead by Z. A. Retch, and Thunder and Ashes by Z. A. Retch.
Quote: My quote is from The Rise Against song Satellite “You can’t fill your cup until you’ve emptied all it has, You can’t understand what lays ahead, if you don’t understand the past, you’ll never learn to fly now ‘till your standing at the cliff, And you can’t truly love until you’ve give up on it”

In between those dates there’s going to be a dash, and that dash is going to represent everything you did in your life; good and bad. It’s how you’re remembered. What do you want your dash to represent?” What other interesting things is there to say about Audrey? 8. My name is Justin T. Selvereo. I was born June 9th, 1995 in Jersey City. I don’t really care about reading that much. I don’t remember the last book I actually finished outside of school. If I had to choose a favorite book, it would probably be some type of harry potter book since I haven’t read much else. I like music a lot. Any type of rock I can listen too. My favorite bands are Bruce Springsteen, The Doors, Jethro Tull, and a few others. I love watching sports. My favorite sport is baseball and my team is the New York Mets. I do write things every once in a while and try to make stories very descriptive and captivating. My quote would be “The highways jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive” from Bruce Springsteen’s born to Run. The quote is about wanting to escape from a place no matter how hard it is and no matter how many people have tried and failed at doing it.

Hi, I’m Erin and I’ve been sober for six weeks. Oops, wrong club. Just kidding, that was a joke. I’m not an alcoholic… yet. If I don’t graduate soon that might be inevitable. Luckily, I’m a senior here at good ole’ DHS. Yayayayayayayayayay! I’m not much of an athlete, I’m too lazy for that. Instead, I devote my time to various clubs. Je suis le president du club francais. I am also a member of the National Honor Society and the Transition Project. That means that I am super smart and a model citizen. Obviously. Being sarcastic is a hobby of mine, in case you couldn’t tell. I also really like to sit on my couch and stare at the television. Shockingly, I also like to write, I don’t just take this class to torture Mr.Kupiec. Although, that is a plus. After graduation, I look forward to attending Middlesex County College, so I can become a dental hygienist. After establishing myself in my career of choice I plan to marry the love of my life. (That would be the man from the M&M commercial with the sexy Spanish accent and Greek god’s well-chiseled face, in case you were wondering.)
